What is candidate screening

Candidate screening is the process of reviewing candidates before they reach your hiring team. This reduces irrelevant interviews and gives managers better information before making decisions.

What VRSJO screens for

  • CV review: checking work history and claimed experience
  • Experience validation: does the experience match the requirements
  • Skill match review: do the technical or functional skills fit
  • Language ability check: communication standard for the role
  • Availability check: can they start within the required window
  • Salary expectation check: is the range realistic
  • Work setup preference: on-site, hybrid, or remote
  • Motivation and interest check: are they genuinely interested
  • Basic culture and communication fit

Screening output

After screening, candidates are either shortlisted, held for consideration, or removed from the pipeline. Only shortlisted candidates are presented with summaries.

[TIP: Less time on irrelevant CVs] Your team spends less time reviewing irrelevant CVs and more time speaking with qualified candidates who have already passed the screening criteria.
